Our ethos at CreatingMedia is simple … “Creativity with a conscience” and we mean it! We work in a way that minimises environmental impact, faces up to the challenges associated with climate-change and recognises the need for business ethics.

This is reflected in the way we do business, the way we utilise transportation, the way we recycle everything possible and the way that we connect with clients, many of whom are keen to be green and fair-trade … at rates which are competitive in the marketplace.

A fly-by-night marketing exercise this is certainly not … the management team at CreatingMedia share a love of business and compassion for the environment in equal measure, believing that successful enterprise need not equate to environmental abuse, however whilst we’ve made a conscious decision to operate this way, our mission is simply to offer a ‘green option’ whenever possible … don’t worry, we’re not into pressure tactics, it’s the client’s decision that’s final!

ENERGY – Our aim is to source as much of our energy from 100% renewable sources as possible whilst minimising wastage, which for a business of our size, equates to saving almost 2 tonnes of CO2 production annually.

OUR SUPPLIERS – We work with ethically-guided and environmentally conscious suppliers whenever possible. For print production, we offer a comprehensive range of paper stocks from responsibly managed and sustainable sources through to 100% recycled, manufactured by the world’s leading mills and approved by organisations such as the FSC.

TRANSPORT – Wherever possible we use carbon-efficient transportation or other viable alternatives.

OUR OFFICES – We’ve converted a 140 year old ‘Wagon House’ constructed from traditional materials to use as our head office. This creates an informal and relaxed environment and represents a huge carbon saving in comparison to building new premises. Wherever possible we’ve used recycled and/or environmentally friendly materials from sustainable sources and ensured that the highest levels of insulation and energy efficiency have been achieved. We’re currently evaluating further renewable energy sources such as wind turbine and solar-powered solutions … we’ll keep you posted on progress!

COMMUNICATION – We communicate wherever possible by using VOIP technologies – namely Skype and Instant Messenger and encourage clients to do the same. Additionally we offer our clients a free webcam so effective, real-time communication can be maintained without generating needless carbon – don’t be misled however, we’re in no way against F2F meetings, we’re always glad to hookup with clients … it’s just our way of trying to make a difference!

RECYCLING – We recycle everything possible, including almost 100% of our office consumables. We source only recycled materials for our own use and work with our clients to provide them with viable recycled alternatives, particularly for print production and packaging.

COFFEE & BISCUITS – All of our coffee and most of our snacks are from Fair Trade suppliers – come around and try some for yourself! We believe in fairness and transparency throughout our business and champion ethical trading and whilst we expect a fair price for our work, we’re not into charging a premium for the privilege.
