Search Engine Optimisation
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) can be split into two – onsite and offsite. While we can help you to improve your on site optimisation we can also help you sustain your visibility with offsite influences. This can be done in a number of ways, and the search engines rank you based on the checks they do. The main two areas of offsite optimization are links into your website and the surrounding search space from your online competitors.
Search Engine Optimisation is the art/science of ranking high in the natural search results for search engines on key words that customers are using to find or buy your services or products.

General Information on SEO and what should be applied to your Website:
Get A Title:
Every page you publish can have a title. The ‘title’ of the page carries more weight than text included in the middle of the page, and is what a search engine generally shows as the heading in the result pages.
Content:
If you are selling property in Italy, include this on your web-page. But don’t stuff your page full of keywords as search engines could remove you from the search.
Updating Your Content:
Aside from any SEO benefit, fresh content helps make your website more informative and current to visitors when they arrive at your website.
Descriptions for Text and Images:
Adding names to your images or ‘Alt Tags’ is an easy win for your SEO efforts. The additional benefit is that you’ll also notice visitors coming in from the engines image searching sections.
Links (Off Site Linking):
Think of links as votes, the more votes your get the better your site must be. Better still the more important the people who vote for you the more valuable those votes.
Domain Extensions and Geographical Market:
If your primary market is the UK, use a UK domain and have it hosted on UK based servers. As Google and other search engines are moving towards the personalisation of search, it becomes evident UK sites are more relevant and therefore being ranked higher for UK searches.
Web Analytics from Day One:
There are a number of web analytics systems you can install on your website for free. In the case of search engines you will be able to see which keywords are driving visitors to your website and therefore identify SEO opportunities for which keywords to pursue.
Big Fish, Small Pond:
It is a challenge to rank #1 in Google for, say, ‘Spanish Property’. Instead, target the areas you sell property. For example, targeting ‘Costa Calida Property’ would be much easier to rank for.
>Extensible Markup language (XML) Sitemap:
The quickest and fastest way of getting your pages cached by Google is to install an XML sitemap. An XML sitemap is an XML “title which contains information on your website URLs. We can also add a Yahoo site map.
How to SEO Flash:
The simple answer is to avoid it altogether unless you’re prepared to spend hours and budget playing with Adobe Flash Player Developer Kits. Search engines simply find Flash technology difficult to index content.

A Simple Way to check if your Website is Search Engine Optimised:
Here are a few quick things that are very basic to optimization so you can see if your site has built with this in mind….
Title Tags:
The title tag of every page should be unique and include keywords used frequently on that page.
Meta Information:
Even if the web designer didn’t fill in these informative code snippets, they should still exist and be ready to be optimized.
Sitemap:
A site map containing links to every single web page should be at the bottom of the home page to aid the search engines in their indexing.
SEO friendly URLS:
URLs should contain fewer than three parameters and also automatically include keywords from the page.
If any of these very basic elements are missing from your “search engine optimized” website, be aware that you will need further optimization if your site is to perform as you expect.
